But with a lot of guys, that's exactly what happened. It happened to me, and I promise you I'm not lying. With the next hike in my pay rate, I'll be back to where I would be under the old NWA contract. Some senior guys have more than made up for it by doing the green slip thing and that's great. But a lot of us aren't at the top of the category to do that.

I don't know if it was a dig either, it was just factually incorrect. Both groups were unified after BK, not just DAL. Both groups ended up with very similar contracts after BK. Post BK, the merger went relatively smoothly not because of the iconic status of one man - rather it was the relative sensibility of both groups.

Then you didn't read closely enough. The total costs of the 2 post BK contracts were very close. DAL had higher pay rates, but with lower guarantees...etc. The 2 contracts were not very different from a cost point of view. Both sides took too many concessions. But then again, BK gave neither side very many good choices.
