I've never understood why everyone thinks pay should be based on industry average. It should be based on what your job is worth and what your company can afford.

Gentlemen, the above statement reflects the most destructive attitude threatening our profession.

We all have to pass the same checkrides, and bear similar responsibilities toward our equipment/payload/passengers and crew. The brand your airline puts on itself has nothing to do with it.

don't forget baldie, spirit has a lot bigger profit margin, so according the mr texas, we should be paid more. I love people who argue with themselves and lose.
