I grew up in a roadless part of Alaska and even Anchorage was too busy for me...so it's always been kind of a mystery to me why so many folks like living in the northeast!

I've known a number of folks from NY, NJ, Boston, etc who are living in Alaska and never want to go back. You should give it a look; you never know, she might like it!

Statistically, MSP is colder than ANC (yeah, that's not saying much). I know that I prefer the cold, often clear and (hopefully) snowy winters of central AK to the wintertime murk and slush that I've seen in the N.E.
