That's because he had no ambition to be a doctor. Being a pilot is still better than being a doctor. To be a successful pilot it takes 100k and a few years of making nothing. To be a successful pilot it takes 250-500k and half your life.

P.S. I just went to a Dr. in mexico for $10. He did a thurough examination of my cough, check my bloodpressure, gave me an overall physical and then I paid another $40 for three perscriptions I asked him for. I guess I robbed some overpriced american doctor and his rich pharmaceutical company of a few hundred bucks.
