Carl; you know I am not "new" to the alpa game. And talk about little quips, man. I am not love the bureaucracy. We both agree on the fact that there are issues with the bureaucracy at National, you just feel that nothing will ever happen and are throwing your arms up in defeat. Go see how many tricks a new pony may have. I may join you some day, but not today. I use the experience of my fellow aviators as reason enough to take pause.
Go ask how enforceable FeEx's contract was pre ALPA? Go ask Spirit if they really could enforce their contract and subsequent strike if they did not have ALPA's support. Notice the games being played at UPS with their group? Go ask AirTran why they joined ALPA in the middle of contract talks? (to name a few) (Yes they dropped the ball on Midwest)
ALPA is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. No one discredits that. As I have said before the benefits outweigh a lot of the negative. The others need to be dealt with.
