SCAB-(NOUN)
1. Someone who works (or provides workers) during a strike
I think that the def sums this situation up. From what I have read, there was no strike, right? Therefore, GoJet pilots are not scabs. Some of you are saying that GoJets is lowering the bar. I don't know what kind of contract they have; but, their pay scale is pretty damn close to the other regionals. On this forum, the term "SCAB" is used to freely. Let's use the term "SCAB" when it is appropriate.
Go-jets is an alter-ego, not a scab operation. But they are just as bad in spirit, if not the letter of the law. You may have experienced scabs in your career at CAL, but two regional pilot groups have recently watched their jobs and airplanes get taken away by management and given to a group of their peers (often from their own pilot group) who were willing to sell their fellow pilots down the river...
The payscale may not look so bad, but the weak workrules allow the company to save a bundle, the gojetters get fast upgrades, and TSA pilots lose longevity when they get jobs elswhere...
