You know Mesa had the same thing a couple of years ago on A/C N511MJ
S/N 10104 (below). a CRJ700.
And I think the aircraft will be fixed but it will be out of service for at least 3 months

The CRJ lands surprisingly well on just two gear (in my experience) and I understand the only major repairs for this one were the slats and flaps so I'm sure you're right and it will be up and airborne in a few months. (though on 511 it seemed to have recurring slat issues after this) I seem to be noticing a trend with the CRJ series and gear issues though.
