I assume they do not want to hire fuloughed guys who may up and leave as soon as they get recalled. What is a furloughed pilot supposed to do to get an interview? I too got ignored by regionals. The best theory I can see is that they want to hire lower time pilots who need 5 years before they have enough time to move to the majors. If a furloughed fractional guy goes to a regional, in a year or less they can be ready to head off to Delta or United. A perfect Catch 22: too many hours for the regionals, not enough for a major.
