OK, I should have been more specific on what I wanted you to clarify. In your original post it seemed you were suggesting new SWA applicants with 717 experience, DC-9 type etc would get hiring preference over current SWA poolies. In the near term, I would say this is a non-event. Not gonna happen.

But it does raise an interesting question. Gary Kelly has stated he can envision the 717's staying on property for 6-8 years. In a couple of years, after SLI is complete, and we're a two airframe company...what do we expect out of newhires? Both types? (I doubt it) 737-type only? Maybe no types?

How will SWA handle the 717 training, sims etc? The SLI and subsequent CBA will determine a lot, but how much crossflow should there be?
