Here is to hoping the other viable candidate isn't "Age 70" Rice. I know he was misquoted as saying we should raise the age, but the ALPA TV clip suggests he thinks we should be "having that conversation". When Prater last "conversed" on Age 65, our lives were set back five years.
I heard from one attendee that Rice recently was recently discussing the possibility of a looming pilot shortage (I think it was at a BOD meeting). His concern was that we should take steps to help mitigate it.

I am concerned with that as well. Additionally, some obviously want regional saftey improvements to be "paid for" by gutting huge numbers of international relief FO's at mainlines with deep Europe 2 pilot ETOPS and 2 man island turns for everyone. That would "mitigate" a whole year's worth of the biggest retirements at each mainline and no one is raising cain about it.
