Even with the new unenthical voting rules the new turnout will still have alpa voted down. Just look at the pay proposal, it had more support from the pilots than alpa does. I know many people that were against alpa but voted no anyway but I don't anyone that was for alpa that voted for this pay package. Of course there has to be a drive for there to be a vote and a handfull of people who call themselves the "organizing comitee" not supported by alpa doesn't make it so.
Slap,

There are a lot of 16XXX to 23XXX Captains that are pretty fed up right now. Besides the lifer contingent (which still has its fair share of union guys) many of us are dissatisfied as we've watched our QOL degraded at a pretty good pace over the last few years. From paying for things we didn't used to, to political sounding rhetoric from the top, I just feel like I work for a different company than I did 3 years ago. I'm a mid seniority FO and have a decent schedule, but I don't feel we have the respect from the current management team that we did when Jerry was really behind the wheel.

Say what you will, but there is a stronger pro-union sentiment than there was back in 2007 and with the voting rules changed and our QOL not getting any better, I don't think its that inconceivable that the next union vote will be much closer than the last.
