I did not encourage my kids to make aviation a career.
I guess we both have different outlooks on life then. I see a lot of kids my age choosing majors that will make them money, and I'm pretty sure 10-15 years down the road they will despise their career path. When I say money not being a concern, I'm not suggesting the minimum wage earning, rather a career path where living comfortably & having a kick arse career are hand in hand, (which by the way is possible at any level of the aviation ladder, people just like to complain a lot).
Of course I would detail the uphill battles associated with becoming a Commercial Airline Pilot, but I'll never prevent someone from following their dreams.
