On another note, there was the A-6 BN whose seat came loose under negative G and went half way up the rails. Took a trap like that, flailing around like a rag doll, unconscious, I think.
Another, worse, A-6 story was a pilot passing out in flight (I don't remember why) and the BN eventually, after an extended decision making process, having to eject, leaving the pilot to crash (no command eject or right seat stick).
