It'd be cheaper to open them in NJ and pay the mob their "protection fee" then to open one in or near an airport like ATL and pay the city of Atlanta it's under the table fees.
I think it was one of the company's that dealt with the construction of runway 28/10 that said they built airports all over the world and in 3rd world countries and never had seen anything like the city of Atlanta.
Probably true...but you have to give Atlanta some credit. When we (ATL airport, city, etc) decided we needed another long runway, we condemned the land, built the runway RIGHT OVER I-285 and finished early, under budget (which was probably corruptly inflated to begin with.
If this was anywhere in the NE or S. California, the NIMBY's would still be suing each other for another decade at least!
