My question is will 5 747's, 12 737's and 4 777's on order eat up 1400 pilots?? The impression was that even if they accelerate the 787 order (UAL) they Seill won't need to hire Pilots?? How much do they think they'll be pushing the Hours per month 90-95hrs?? And is this a realisitc number??
I can tell you this. We DON'T have the ground support people to du anywhere Near what they were claiming we Could so and I didn't even KNOW the Pilots were embracing "LEAN" Strategies. BTW, How WOULD a Flight crew be LEAN anyway??
I would hope that the new Contract would have some type of cap on the hours...somewhere in the range of 80 hours. Flying 90+ hours on the narrow bodies sucked and I'm under the impression that is the norm at CAL.
