We were taxing out this morning, SWA ignored (or weren't listening) Ground Controls order to hold short for us. I heard the transmission from ATC twice, with no response from SWA. Only when we weren't going to hold for them, Maverick piped up asking what was going on. I've seen this more than once. What kind of dangerous game are you playing? Do you feel its your right to always try and get the upper-hand. Its this level of mutual respect SWA has lost trying to be number one.
I've had it happen to me multiple times especially in LVS. One of our local and lovely SWA guys here on APC suggested that if it really was an issue to file a violation. And that is exactly what I am going to do next time it happens.
I got cut off in LVS last year after a SWA guy ignored/missed his hold clearance and it was close enough that I had aggressively brake to avoid him.
Sh!t happens and we all make mistakes but this is simply to common to be a mistake. These boys are playing frat boy games and it's going to get somebody hurt. The best part is when it's mentioned they immediately ball up and go on the defensive. That tells you a lot right there.
