Unfortunately, as many believe, it wasn't Prater who signed age 65 into law. It was our last president (good friends with Lorenzo if that means anything). ALPA was taking a slingshot to war against a tank. Who was going to win? Why bother spending millions of dues dollars to plug a sinking ship that's going to sink regardless of how well it's patched. It was a no win situation for him. And yes, it's cost us dearly. Another part of having a "labor unfriendly" administration........... and what's even sadder is that some of the pilots making the most noise about the age 65 crap were from SWA, and I'm not convinced they were financially harmed as they may claim............sorry for the political drabble.
