Oh, please! We are talking the airlines here. Sometimes I think they like to use the communist method: plan 5 years out then the next week they are so screwed up they can't figure out what to do.

At CAL, the only thing I expect ever is no hiring or no recalls until I see it. They like to run this staff so lean and treat the crews like slaves in the summer to only graciously offer COLAs and reduced flying the rest of the year as a reward for the all the hard work. Of course that reward comes with a reduction in pay.
