Since there is no requirement to how acars works Mesa sets the acars to record once the parking brake is released. You don't need to have the door closed. If your going to be a little late all you have to do is kick the brake. Mesa pilots don't do this for the companies benefit. They do it to make a little extra money. I know us air doesn't want wholly owned anymore. I hope Mesa has to buy Psa as part of the deal so these psa guys that are hating on Mesa get to become part of the Mesa machine and see why the pilots add a few minutes to their block
