The company is going to have to resort to buying sim time from someone else (Flight Safety or Boeing) and possibly even using non-Alaska instructors. I'm sure they're going to want us to give them relief on back-side-of-the-clock sim sessions. I don't have a problem with using a third party's sims. As much as I want to see all the furloughed pilots back pronto, we absolutely cannot give on the back-side-of-the-clock training. As for using non-Alaska instructors, I don't like this either. Our cadre of instructors will put up a good fight on this issue I'm sure. If the company wants to sign a side-letter for, say, a 6-month relief on these issues to get people back, then it might be worth looking at.
