[REMOVED FLAMEBAIT]
I'd have to agree that this is a pure and simple management decision and nothing else. You're right, this is not "OUR" flying and it never will be.
We have "enjoyed" for that past few years very little movement in this industry and crewmembers I've flown with lately have set up roots in their said domiciles. Now the industry is moving and merging, multiple domicile changes and a lot of just general uncertainty. I know, que, "Welcome to the Airline Industry" here. The fact is in our little world, Skywest v. ExpressJet, our fleet allocation decisions and heck, even the coffee cup brand we carry on the airplane are all based soley on what Mama and Papa United wants. That's the way it has always been.
Also, I think a jumpseat war is a very bad idea. Many of us may have the sobering reality in view of having to commute to new domiciles in the future. (ex-CAL/United) Lets not make it harder on each other to make a living. I jumped a lot on Skywest to MSP in the past and they are first class peeps. First class when they had the room and never an ill word about XJT. I love my fellow XJT'ers and I know we have eaten a lot of $hit sandwiches and washed them down with poop punch in the past due to pi$$ poor market conditions and equally poor management decisions. That does not make Skywest our enemy. Crewmembers showing other Crewmembers respect will get all of us through this. Remember, these are management, not line pilot decisions.
