This deserves a little more attention than just "it happens" these engines are all relatively new and they haven't been in service long enough for cumulative damage due to metal fatigue, I think that the grounding of the fleets at Singapore and Qantas is well justified
Good point but I think it's widely accepted that the most failure prone time for any engine is the first few hundred hours after build or overhaul.
