When I was a senior RJ Captain, I never did "day trips". I didn't like them. Too much driving in traffic. Too much time with the wife. They had senior day trip lines and junior ones (less days off). I prefered the four day trips and the occasional 3 day (they were rare). I worked four on and three off. Now I work 3 on and 3 off in the 757. I still avoid day trips. I drive 1:20 each way to work. Too much traffic and gas. Everyone wants something different and most airlines give you options in the schedules.
