We all know that C2012 is a time for major gains towards the value of our career. This LOA cleaned up a lot of language that needed to be cleaned up, and it gave a bunch of items that the line pilots demanded though resolution. It is proof positive that yep, the process is working, albeit too slowly for many.
I knew the first question out of your mouth was going to be, "What did we have to give up for it" So I just answered the question! Even you must admit you would have asked it!
So, did ya read the 38 pages of ALPA's response the the NPRM?
1) They did not agree with 10 hrs of flight time, but with their original proposal.
2) They added some very precise language on many other items.
It is a good read. Reading all of that Scientific Mumbo Jumbo makes me think those guys might actually know what they are talking about!
Actually, the first question I asked is "Why am I always hearing about things after they are done. I'm used to seeing the entire agenda for MEC meetings published well in advance of the meeting. Much easier to provide feedback on things I know are going to be discussed instead of asking for things to be discussed then sitting in th communicatio ns black hole until after something is resolved, passed, negotiated, signed and them released to the surprised pilot group.
