Our freedoms are our birthright. They were given to us by god if you believe he exists. (I don't) These rights are not yours to surrender. The TSA is clearly in violation of the 4th amendment. I seriously doubt groping granny and 6 year olds is keeping us safe. Al-qaida must be laughing their asses off as we shred our own bill of rights.

The fact is, when you accept the process, you waive your 4th amendment rights.

The issue is, TSA screeners (I will not use the term officer) are not trained in the 4th amendment as LEO's are. They are just hourly workers doing what they are told. Nothing more or less despite what they might think of themselves.

When you permit the search be it imaging or "pat down," you have given up your 4th amendment rights to an individual who is a government worker but that doesn't have the authority to deprive you of them as in the case of a LEO assuming probable cause.

The real question is, where do we draw the line? What is acceptable as it relates to your rights?

I will say that based on what I've read but not experienced, the new "pat down" term used by the TSA and the media is more akin to a frisking.

Frisking is reserved for an individual under arrest..........
