Yeah. It's all relative to what a dishwasher at some crappy diner makes. It should matter to everyone. Accepting crap pay brings the industry average pay down for everyone else who actually does this for a living. I would be humiliated to have to ask my wife to pay the bills because I insisted on working for entry level peepshow floor cleaner wages.
How do you plan on taking care of yourself in your retirement years when you spend a significant portion of your working years making less than a Walmart employee? What about your childrens' education? What about your own self respect?
