I received the, "we're looking at your app" and "fix this one time gap in your application" emails about 2 days before the "off the street" stuff that was happening this summer was cut off. In other words, I was late to the party. I've been told by some buddies at Delta that typically if you get the email stuff you will shortly get the phone call for an interview. Can anyone substantiate that? Also, if that's correct, do they typically pick up where they left off if they do indeed hire this next year, as is the rumor? Just wondering if they were looking at potential people to call will they either: A. Pick up where they left off / or B. Throw everyone back in the barrel and re-sort the pile? Sorry for being so long winded. Thanks for any help.
I don't think anyone on this forum can tell you the exact sequence they follow in deciding who to interview. They seem to have two parallel processes. One is a highly technical and extremely precise algorithm. The other is a monkey with a dart board.
Having said that, I think your buddies are correct. Those e-mails were a good sign. Somebody took a close look at your app. Keep your stuff updated and you will probably rise to the top again whether they "re-sort" or not.
