How about this: get senior enough to bid it instead of trying to steal seniority/pay from the ones already on it?
In my observation, this is an attitude more prevalent among ASA 700 captains and some of the more senior 700 FOs. Personally, I see this as an easy way to make gains for the pilot contract while giving the company greater flexibility so that it can be more competitive.
