IMO, the APA is correct in not signing a side letter and giving away some of their leverage in seeking a new agreement. That would be foolish.

Don't for one second think that the APA wouldn't want an agreement to fly this route non-stop both ways. But they are correct in keeping their eye on the bigger prize - a complete contract.

If the company really wants the route, then they have to get serious at the bargaining table. Apparently they are not.

What are people so quick to blame the unions?
Perhaps it should be dubbed the Jet Blue Syndrome. On other threads, there is at least one room temperature IQ JB type who apparently got furloughed from AA, and is so myopically bitter that he actually believes that unions in general were to blame for his furlough, and that now he and JB are going to set the world on fire. On this forum are also a large number of pudknockers who aren't even real pilots to begin with, and would likely pay JB for the privilidge of lining management's wallets. Don't gauge the pilot population based on the stuttering of morons and wannabe pudknockers who work in cubicle jobs for putz money and then try and act like real pilots on a pilot forum.
