Default Comox Air Force Museum

My husband and I spent Thanksgiving driving in the snow and ice to get to the beautiful Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. Today, after a wonderful spa experience, we drove on to the Comox Air Force Museum, which is situated at the entrance of CFB Comox.

This museum has the most interesting exhibits dedicated to the Canadian Air Force and all her accomplishments from World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and they are working on Kandahar. It specifically is the repository of all things from 19 Wing.

The museum is home to John Colwell's diary which he kept when he was a POW in Stalag Luft 3 and participaed in The Great Escape. That diary alone is enough reason to come out here.

The library has 8000+ books on aviation. The ceilings are filled with airplanes from the past.

Visit it if you can. I love Canadians!
