Going back over to the TSA side of the discussion ---- if I remember correctly, it was established to replace the loosly organized, poorly trained, lowly paid private security screeners that allowed 19 bad guys to board airplanes with box cutters to cut pilots throats. So far so good -- no repeats to date. Still gotta work on those underwear bombers. Yes -- it has been expensive. Yes -- it is inconvenient. It's not quite as intrusive as that full body search under the watchful eyes of the guy with the machine gun I had to go thru in Taiwan back when the commies were coming.
Who really cares how much they're paid. It's certainly a job I would never want to do --almost as much fun as being a gate agent when flights are getting cancelled.
