Its only a good deal if they do not assign you recovery flying. It can be a very bad deal. I had a four day commutable trip out of JFK that was dropped for an OE. Scheduling then tried to gave me a 3 day trip not commutable on the back end out of EWR which was legal according to the PWA. I pleaded with him that my flight kit was at JFK and it would be very hard for me to get my kit and then get to EWR without commuting in the night before. Fortunately he was able to give me a 3 day JFK instead.
They can give you a trip that gets in up to 4 hours after your original or by midnight the same day...
wichever is later. This is something that needs to be addressed in the next contract.
