Hmm? The MD11 Captain turns 60 and is sent to school for three months at 15 year S/O pay. His replacement is a A300 Captain goes to school at widebody Captain pay for four months, his replacement is a DC10 Captain that goes to A300 school for three months, at Widebody Captain rates, his replacement is a B727 Captain who goes to school for three months at narrow body Captain rates, his replacement is a MD11 F/O that goes to school for three months at widebody F/O rates, his replacement is a DC10 F/O that goes to school for four months at widebody F/O rates, and on and on. One retirement can take 10+ pilots off the line and into school for 3 to 6 months. Sound like a plan that management loves???
