What I find "interesting" about this bid is it's bringing BACK flying to EWR that never should have gone to IAH in the first place. The number of hotel rooms and deadheading created by this shift in flying was absurd. Nothing like spending a dollar to make a nickel, but I guess ticking off the pilots to show us who is in control was accomplished.

I was using the understaffed EWR pairings to my advantage. I got 26 hours of deadhead pay that I never did in October because CAL is not very bright. I'd take a fake deadhead every week from IAH-EWR and just go home. I agree, they should have never taken all of the flying and pushed it to IAH.
This rebasing/new bid is going to be nice for us EWR guys since I dropped 20% since they did it. Now I can get back to 20 days off a month doing the IRO thing. About time!
