I've read the contract as best I can and as near as I can tell it is:
-can fly me on my original footprint..more or less
-12 hours before they have to tell me or I'm off the hook
-best case..I'm done and being paid/worst case..crappier trip given to me 12:01 before the original sign in
any/all right? if I'm not assigned by 12 hrs prior, but told I'm removed, am I on reserve? (SC?)
??
If they haven't notified you of your removal from original assignment by 12 hours prior to your original show then you have no recovery obligation. You'll be paid for your original trip. You can even WS.
However, if they do notify you before the 12 hr mark & you acknowledge your assignment BEFORE 3 hours PRIOR to your originally scheduled report time you're subject to 23.G.5.a.1
I just went through this at the beginning of the month. There were multiple trips in open time, & recovery flying guys get assigned open time BEFORE reserves so I preferenced the trips I wanted so I didn't get stuck with a crummy trip. If there are trips in open time I'd use the PCS option to pref unless you don't care. I commute, so I wanted to pick a commutable trip.
If they notify you of a trip before 12 hours and you don't acknowledge the trip 3 hours prior you have to be 'promptly available' from original report until 6 hours after.
Clear as mud?
Hope this helps.
