If you declined HIT prior to the end of the last duty period where you were projected to go above 70:45 you could decline extra flying. You had 11 days off in 30 with 6 of them inviolate. Reserve patterns did have holidays off for a certain amount of lines, you had the "choice" to bid RSV or a Line if you could hold it.
