I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to do the autopilot test on the Saab 340B? I'm new to the airplane and when I went to test it, it would automatically disconnect. I engaged the autopilot, pressed both trim buttons on the yoke up and it would disconnect.
If I just engage it and not doing anything, it looks like it goes through a self test. Is this correct?

The autopilot test on the Saab 340 goes like this:
In flight, connect the autopilot.
Does it fly better than you?
If yes, the autopilot is working fine.
If not, the autopilot is broken.
End of test.
