I can tell all of you that fences are a horrible short-sighted idea. One of the major benefits all the pilots are going to get here is the ability to bid many more base/aircraft combination. You're each going from, I don't know, 3-5 per airline... to maybe a dozen total. Thats a lot of options and its like winning the QOL lottery. Don't be shortsighted and artificially limit yourselves.
Those who think you're bringing something "premium" to the table... get over yourselves. We're not talking about 747s here. Everyone involved flies regional aircraft on regional routes for regional payrates. Some have it slightly better than others, but nothing is worth fencing. Its all the same company anyways, any benefit you have may have been at the expense of another fellow pilot. A fence would just continue to prevent that fellow pilot from sharing in the gains that should be for all.
Nobody is going to get pushed out of their seat due to this, but options for bidding vacant seats in other aircraft or bases should be open to all.
(*Note: I don't have a dog in this fight, just providing some opinion/observation.... I have nothing to gain or lose from some Q400s upgrades being fenced)
Could someone post the list of bases and aircraft at those bases for each airline?
Additionally, does anyone know if dual qual was agreed to in the TA? For the sake of the industry and your airline, I hope not.
