Just remember that you will be interviewing for a job as a
regional pilot.
At JetBlue every anticipated future 320 Captain for the next 10-15 years is
already on the property, and the upgrade to 190 Captain will take
several years at current best-case growth estimates using the latest delivery schedules. Why???
Because of the size of JB's pilot group and the expiry of the 'fence' in 2007 we will soon see 190 F/O's moving to the right seat of the 320, 320 F/O's upgrading on the 190, and 190 Captains moving to the left seat of the 320. (There are no shortcuts on a seniority list.) Thus, check out the 190 F/O pay rates very carefully and see if
F/O flight time at the current pay rate beats your current gig. If your long-term career goal involves flying for a stable and profitable premiere airline (yes, a few still exist) you may be better off logging PIC elsewhere.
Other than that, JB is a fine place to keep current while looking for your next job or if you need to live in NY. Good luck!!
