I am back 15 a few months later. I have read these responses and have a few things to say. I do not have a "zeal" for flying; stop being so dramatic. I think that a lot of people have had bad luck in the industry and have become a little jaded and disillusioned with aviation. My dream is to go to flight school and become either a corporate pilot or FedEx pilot. My parents know many people who work at FedEx that can give me recommendations. We fairly close to the FedEx main hub. Obviously I won't live in my parent's house, but I can easily live close to the hub. My first backup plan is the air national guard. My second backup plan is an engineering degree. The reason engineering is not my first choice is that I don't enjoy it as much as flying. I never liked school, and I don't think I would like a white-collar desk job much better. I am not very good at math, and that is a large part of engineering. I appreciate all the people who gave it to me straight and weren't being dramatic and whiny. Thanks for all the help guys. Also, I'll probably stick around on the forums. I am not easily swayed, so I don't think staying around is going to make me hate flying.
