I too was disappointed that he didn't mention scope. I would say, from everyone I've talked with and from what I read both here and on the DALPA Forum, that scope is at least equal to pay as one of the top two most pressing issues for this pilot group. Why it didn't get a mention in this letter is beyond me (well maybe not... I have some ideas but I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt at this point). If it's any consolation, I had a long talk about a month back with a couple of the C44 reps in ATL, and they were extremely adamant about the importance of scope.

I am heartened by this statement: Ultimately, the satisfaction comes from results—results of establishing a solid plan, allocating ample resources, clearly defining goals and the force of execution that comes from a unified pilot group.
