Sometimes both on one flight. Case in point: This time of year you can leave Hong Kong in the wee hours of the morning, the sun comes up a few hours into the flight, then sets again before you get to Anchorage. And it's all in a little over a nine to ten hour flight -- depending on winds. This is just one example as there are others that you get to see the same.
