On this fact you are mistaken. As I recall when the ALPA pilots were polled it came back something like 65% against changing age 60. Like stated above Prater and the leaders at National were not happy about this. Prater formed a "blue ribbon" panel that was skewed to get the results he wanted. If I remember correctly almost all of the panel was over the age of 50. All but 1 was a captain and all but one member came from the major airlines. After it was announced that the panel and ALPA would support age 65 I emailed Prater asking how if a large majority of pilots were against something ALPA still supported it? He replied with what is stated above. Basically it is going to change anyway so we want to be a part of it. Which was a pretty spineless way to do business. And probably a large reason why Prater is no longer in charge.
Going to ALPA is a decision that all the jetBlue pilots will have to make on their own. Just want to correct the facts on this one issue.
