I could be wrong, but I don't think so.
There were only about 15 pref-hire folks from PDT to mainline in early 2008. The first 10 of them (66%) completed all training and were line qualified on the A320 and B737. So anyone who might have heard that they can't work an FMS would be perpetuating a flat-out lie. The remaining 5 or so guys completed basic indoc, but each of them continued on to complete different parts of systems, simulator and type ride, and IOE on the E190 before all of them were furloughed. If any of the PDT pref-hire guys coming back to mainline from furlough are having trouble in training, I would guess you're talking about a very small number (as in 1 or 2) of those last 5 guys who never finished IOE.
