Yeah that's a really good point. For me personally I love SWA as a company but don't really enjoy flying on them and almost never buy tix for the family on them but, in general, those travel perks are great. I saw a UAL friend over in Europe last summer taking his 16 year old daughter on vacation and they flew intl business class the whole way (would have gone first but UAL has a policy against minors in the front for free) - now that's a fantastic perk - not to mention that your retired parents can also use it.
My parents did 3 international trips this year. Got business class on 5/6 segments and they went as S2s each time. Didn't cost a penny. It's nice to be able to do that for them.
