At NJA, we bid quarterly. Different aircraft have different start days. On the Citation X, the start days are Wed, Sat, or Sun. I would have to look up start days for other aircraft.

For example, if you bid and are awarded a Sunday start (this is all 7on/7off) I'm talking about......then you don't have to bid for the next quarter, if you are happy with the Sunday start day.....you will automatically get it again. If you want to switch to a Wednesday or Saturday start, you have to bid it when the next quarter comes around. When you switch start days, you have "seam days" that transition you to your new start day. These kind of stink, because you don't always get the full week off while you are transitioning to your new start day.

At the end of Jan, I am transitioning from Sat starts to a Sun start day. I will have 7on/5off, followed by 5on/5off, before I have fully transitioned to Sunday starts.

If you want the reserve schedule, you must bid it every quarter, or you will be put on a 7on/7off schedule by default.
