A little update for ya.
Just headed out around town for some errands and the local roads are clearing nicely - on their own, no thanks to the shoddy salting and plowing. Not sure about the interstates or farther north of the airport, but to the south braking action is good
Also, you may not need that type I/IV. Most of the cars I've seen just have a little snow on the roofs and a bit on the windshield. All the clear ice glazing has melted off. Whoo hoo!
Same on the northside - slushy, melting ice on roads. Currently 34F, and forecast to get down to 17F by tomorrow morning, so that slush will be a skating rink before too long. Schools closed again tomorrow - lots of family time around here - sort of like a scene out of
The Shining.
