EVO 4G. Droid is so last month.

Really, what ever you get needs to be 4G capable. Using it to tether your laptop sure beats the hotel network, pirating a signal, or paying an extra fee (hotel 528kb, 4G 12 to 15 mbps here). If it was not for my wife's Facebook addiction, I would drop the home cable modem and simply use the phone as the home's wireless router. Seriously, you can run up to eight other computers off of it. Sprint was running demos where they had complete service centers running through a phone ... that's nuts.

I am surprised at least once a week by some cool new functionality Google has thought up.

For example when out on a run (and nearly lost) I fired up Google Maps. In the past you knew where you were, but had to move to see which direction you were going so you ended up jogging while looking at the screen and running into stuff like an idiot. Now google maps uses the EVO's compass and gyro to orient itself. Google street view literally looks like the street you are on, headed the direction the phone's camera is pointed. Tilt it flat and you get a satellite view ... brilliance.

Many people with Apple phones really like them, but after owning both (and being initially amazed by Apple's quality and software) the Andriod / Google combination is rolling over their product line like a tsunami. Kind of like the way the Blackberry rolled over Palm. Maybe the iPhone 5G will actually be 4G capable.
