Some of the other benefits that Skywest continues to get without any element of contribution:

CASS (developed by ALPA in conjunction with the Feds)
Crew Pass (where available, also developed by ALPA in conjunction with the smurf police)
New Rest regulations (also developed through the facilitation of data provided by ALPA carriers, with only a 5% provided by non-union carriers.

Should I go on? What has that "student council" called SAPA done?
The first one was rejected, so we didn't just roll over. A lot of folks don't like this either, but I'm not sure what will happen. But nobody has voted on the proposal at hand yet...why start flaming already?

A lot of SKW pilots really hate alpa, I pondered this and realized we come mostly from the west coast and the rockies, ie cowboys, surfers, and loggers. I think as a group we naturally just don't like other people presuming to tell us what to do. If the alpa advocates really want SKW on board, maybe constructive criticism instead of bashing.

Riding on the coattails sounds like a good business decision to a lot of pilots. Alpa is not a religion or a "brotherhood", it is a business tool which serves mostly itself, then senior major airline pilots. Forget that and you are an idiot.

The current folks running our "student council" are the best we have ever had, better by far than the clowns I have seen running regional alpa councils.

There is a drive going to certify sapa. I'm not sure if the financial numbers will work out but I hope they do. I think we could get this passed a lot easier than another alpa run.
