Sched ... well it might be a crap-shoot on that ... BUT, I did something very similar. I was hired as an FE on a 72 and sat back there and learned more in a year and a half than I write in a book. Anyway, I did upgrade ... and got the pleasure to fly one of the loudest, rattling, smoking, challenging, fast and overall iconic aircraft in jet history. I wouldn't trade my time on the 72 for ANYTHING (ok, almost anything)! What got me in those seats are my willingness to sit back there and throw switches. In many way, it made me the pilot I am today ... ok, wait ... now that's scary.
